A small promise, a school of hope in Pakistan.

In 2011, during the Latok expedition, I met Yousuf, a porter whose quiet kindness left a deep impression on me,

especially when he gave his shoes to an injured cook. Later, visiting Yousuf’s village in Pakistan, I saw children struggling to learn in a school

without teachers or proper resources. Moved by their passion, I promised Yousuf I would support the school by funding teachers' salaries. Thirteen years later, with three teachers

now educating the children, I continue to uphold that promise, hoping it helps build a brighter future for them and fosters a connection between Pakistan and Korea.

A small seed of hope blossoming in Mondrong.

Mondrong Village, with 20 families and 50 children, had no school or teachers. In 2023, I decided to build five classrooms,

giving the children a space to learn and grow. By 2024, the second "Alex Elementary School" was completed. The children,

once without a place to study, now fill the classrooms with learning and dreams. Seeing their smiles on the day the school opened, I

knew hope had taken root in their lives, and Mondrong was no longer silent.
